		AUP Tournament 2011

		AUP PI Challenge
		Take 11 teams of four young men each. Give them a brief which states: you have one hour to plan and build a bridge using only newspaper, string and sticky tape. Read more | Photo gallery
		Zarkuh Makeover
		Building One, as it was originally known, or Zarkuh as we now call it, has been here for the entire 10 years of the PI’s existence. And, as with any building of that vintage, it was beginning to show its age. Read more | Photo gallery
		Desert trip
		On Friday, February 25, 2011, some 70 students from the Petroleum Institute’s AUP Department (plus the odd faculty member or two) got together and headed out into the desert, to Al Khatem, near Al Ain. Read more | Photo gallery
		Field trip to Baker Hughes
		On January 5th and 6th, AUP Module 3 English students went on a field trip to Baker Hughes Educational Centre in Jebel Ali. The purpose of this trip was to provide students with an insight into the different aspects of today’s petroleum industry. Read more | Photo gallery

		AUP Student Awards
		On Wednesday December 21 and 22, 2010, the AUP Department proudly held its fall semester student awards ceremony, to recognise and reward academic excellence within the department. There were prizes and certificates for best in each individual discipline, as well as one for best overall, on both the Mens’ and the Womens’ campuses. Read more | Photo gallery
		Module 2 Machine Show
		On Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010, AUP Module 2 English students presented their creations at the end of course Machine Show. Intended primarily as a demonstration of how simple machines combine to form compound machines, what this event really did was showcase just how inventive PI students can be. Read more | Photo gallery
