Welcome to the Graduate School of the Petroleum Institute, a rapidly growing university and research center in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

The Petroleum Institute was established in 2001 and since 2007 offers graduate programs that lead to a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Health Safety & Environmental Engineering, and to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Petroleum Geosciences. The M.Eng. programs emphasisze applied aspects of the various engineering disciplines while the M.Sc. programs focus on research in applied science and engineering. Teaching / Research Assistantships and Fellowships are available for full-time graduate students with excellent academic records.

Graduate courses are taught by faculty with significant international experience in research and graduate education. Graduate students are involved in a large range of exciting research projects, many of them supported by the local petroleum industry, and in collaboration with international partner universities. With a major research center under construction, the existing research infrastructure will be significantly expanded in 2013/2014. The PI is working towards the initiation of Ph.D. programs, expected to be launched in the near future.
