Library PressDisplay
The PI Libraries are pleased to announce that we now have a trial of NewspaperDirect's Library PressDisplay. You can access it via http://library.pressdisplay.com/. The trial runs through 13 June 2013.
Library PressDisplay provides access to both current issues and archives of more than 2200 newspapers from 97 countries in 54 languages.
Library PressDisplay site provides readers with comprehensive SmartNavigation, on most papers, with convenient search and bookmarking tools. SmartNavigation also provides readers with a traditional 2-page newspaper view, table of contents, article jumps (linking article sections) and easy to read text views. Library PressDisplay further improves on newspaper reading with instant translation. Now readers can translate their newspaper into one of ten major foreign languages. Page and article sharing, RSS and blogging features enhance the traditional newspaper and magazine experience.

Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science Trial
The PI Libraries are pleased to announce that we now have a trial of Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science from Morgan & Claypool Publishers. You can browse the subject areas available at http://www.morganclaypool.com/page/browseLbS.jsp. The trial will end on 30 June 2013.
The basic component of the resource is a 50 to 100-page electronic book that synthesizes an important research or development topic, authored by a prominent contributor to the field. These e-books offer unique value to the reader by providing more synthesis, analysis, and depth than typical research journal articles. They are also more modular and dynamic than traditional print or digital handbooks, such as collected volumes and monographs. They are ideal entry points to new areas for researchers, advanced developers, and students.
The collection is organized by series, each managed by a prominent consulting editor. The series editor oversees lecture topic and author selection as well as peer review to assure quality. The site launched in October 2005 with an initial selection of series in engineering and computer science. New titles are posted to the site as they become available.
